The voices of the Summit

André Covas is Portugal Campus Lead at Metyis and heads the firm's design practice, working at the intersection of design, business and technology, helping global organisations transform customer experiences and brands. Over nearly two decades, he has built and scaled design teams, advised senior executives on strategic transformation, and led initiatives where creative vision and commercial goals converge. 

In an era where AI is redefining how customers interact with brands, André brings a distinctive perspective on the role of design in making technology useful, trusted, and commercially impactful.

André Covas

Diogo Vieira da Silva is Head of Unit for the Impact Centers at Porto Business School’s Innovation X Hub, where he works at the intersection of innovation, business, sustainability and digital transformation. He brings extensive experience in developing innovation initiatives and connecting academia, companies, entrepreneurs and wider ecosystems to generate practical impact. 

Throughout his career, Diogo has focused on translating emerging trends and complex challenges into actionable strategies, with expertise in innovation, AI, sustainability and economic competitiveness. He has also coordinated research on Portugal’s digital economy, examining the role of AI, automation, cybersecurity, digital regulation and sustainability in shaping future growth. 

Diogo brings a strategic perspective on how organisations can measure the impact of innovation and turn new technologies and ideas into tangible business and societal value. 

Diogo Vieira da Silva

Hugo Martins is CEO of Salsa Jeans, leading the Portuguese denim brand's growth and international expansion. With more than 20 years of experience in strategy, digital transformation and international retail, he has built his career across consulting, private equity and executive leadership roles.

Since joining Salsa Jeans in 2019, first as Chief Digital Officer and later as CEO, Hugo has focused on strengthening the brand's product, customer experience and digital capabilities. Before joining Salsa Jeans, he held several leadership roles at Sonae across strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, international business development, fashion and digital innovation.

Hugo brings a strategic and practical perspective on how established retail brands can evolve in a rapidly changing consumer landscape, using digital transformation, innovation and customer-centric experiences to drive sustainable growth, strengthen international competitiveness and build distinctive global brands. 

Hugo Martins

Akshat Srivastava is a Partner at Metyis with extensive experience building and scaling digital commerce businesses across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Combining consulting and operational leadership experience, he works with organisations to accelerate growth through digital transformation, customer-centric innovation, and data-driven decision-making. 

As a moderator for the AI Commerce Summit, Akshat brings that cross-market lens to the conversation, helping connect the experiences of different industries and geographies. His interest in the transformative potential of eCommerce makes him particularly well placed to explore not only what AI can enable, but how leaders can turn that potential into scalable businesses.

Akshat Srivastava

Mateus Dourado is an analytical consultant and measurement leader at Google with experience across analytics, marketing, technology, and business. He has held several roles at Google, working closely with organisations to translate data, measurement, and consumer signals into actionable insights and growth opportunities. 

Throughout his career, Mateus has focused on Google Analytics, marketing measurement, attribution, and AI-powered solutions. He brings a practical perspective on how companies can build stronger data foundations, improve decision-making by using measurement to better understand consumers, optimise performance, and drive sustainable business impact. 

Mateus Dourado

Dominik Zellner is Head of Engineering at Mercedes-Benz.io, with extensive experience across eCommerce, digital products and technology. He has held several leadership roles at Mercedes-Benz, including Program Lead and Swarm Lead for eCommerce, focusing on scalable digital platforms and customer-facing solutions. 

Today, Dominik focuses on how technology, engineering and AI can transform digital customer experiences. He brings a practical perspective on applying AI to e-commerce and customer journeys, with a strong focus on innovation, scalability and tangible business value. 

Dominik Zellner

Gonçalo Ramos is Digital Business Leader at Hôma, driving the company’s digital transformation and omnichannel growth. With over 17 years of experience across marketing, customer experience and digital transformation, he focuses on connecting digital innovation with commercial growth and customer-centric strategies. His work spans eCommerce, marketplaces, data-driven personalisation and digital platforms, helping Hôma build a more agile and integrated customer experience.

Gonçalo Ramos

Pedro Santos is Head of Operations Development and Head of Innovation at MC Sonae, with extensive experience across eCommerce, digital transformation, operations, and innovation. He has played a key role in the development and evolution of Continente Online and its omnichannel customer experience, helping shape the digital transformation of one of Portugal's leading retailers.
 
Throughout his career, Pedro has focused on using technology, data, personalisation, and automation to improve customer experiences and operational efficiency. His experience includes AI-powered personalisation and recommendation capabilities within Continente’s digital ecosystem. 

Pedro brings a practical perspective on how large-scale retailers can combine digital innovation, technology, and operational excellence to create more seamless, relevant, and measurable customer experiences. 

Pedro Santos

Ashish Dang has spent almost 15 years helping organisations navigate digital transformation and embed digital capabilities across their value chains. His background spans customer data science, banking, and eCommerce while combining engineering foundations with a Global Executive MBA from INSEAD. Since joining Metyis in 2016, he has built client partnerships and developed solutions at the intersection of technology, data and business. 

As a moderator for the AI Commerce Summit, Ashish brings the perspective of someone who has worked through transformation from both the analytical and commercial sides — helping push the conversation beyond technology itself towards the organisational choices, capabilities and partnerships needed to make change happen.

Ashish Dang

Joana Santos is Head of Sales at Google Portugal, with 18 years of experience across technology, media, and digital advertising, including roles in Google’s international offices. Throughout her career, she has worked with brands, agencies, and media partners, helping businesses navigate the evolution of search, digital marketing, consumer behaviour and AI-powered solutions. 

Recognised as one of the notable voices in Portugal’s digital media landscape, Joana has focused her career on connecting data, automation and artificial intelligence with commercial growth. She brings a strategic and practical perspective on how organisations can better understand consumers, improve decision-making, and create more relevant digital commerce experiences.

Bruno Reis Teixeira is Head of Data Analytics & Automation at El Corte Inglés Portugal, with a strong background that merges technology, data, and business. As an engineering leader, he focuses on using data, automation, and artificial intelligence to transform retail operations and create more relevant customer experiences. 

Throughout his career, Bruno has worked across data analytics, automation, AI, personalisation, and the integration of technology into business operations. His focus includes the practical challenges of applying AI in eCommerce, from ensuring high-quality data and connecting AI to operational systems to using experimentation to drive measurable outcomes. 

As a regular contributor to discussions on digital transformation and AI in retail, Bruno brings a pragmatic perspective on how organisations can move beyond experimentation and embed AI into operations while maintaining human oversight, customer trust, and brand relevance. 

Bruno Reis Teixeira

Teresa Azevedo is Strategic Projects Lead at B-Parts, part of the Stellantis Group, with experience across eCommerce, commercial operations and strategic business initiatives. B-Parts is a global marketplace for used automotive parts and a recognised player in the digital automotive sector.

Throughout her career, Teresa has focused on AI-driven initiatives and their application to eCommerce, exploring how emerging technologies can improve decision-making, customer experience, and business performance.
Teresa brings a practical perspective on how data, technology, and AI can help eCommerce businesses innovate, scale, and create more relevant customer experiences.

Teresa Azevedo

Paulo Peereboom is CEO of Bouwmaat and an international business leader with more than 30 years of experience across retail, food service, commercial, supply chain, and operations. He has held senior leadership positions across seven countries and led businesses including Ahold, Mars, Pick n Pay, Metro AG and Sysco, with responsibility for large-scale transformations and complex international operations. His focus has consistently been on simplifying complexity, improving customer value and delivering profitable growth. 

Paulo brings the perspective of a leader who has lived through transformation from the boardroom to execution, bringing an understanding of how technology can genuinely change how a business operates and what it takes to make that change long-lasting.

Paulo Peereboom

Stijn Groenink is a Senior Partner and Executive Board member at Metyis, leading its Digital Commerce Solutions and serving as Country Lead for the Netherlands. His background spans strategy and digital consulting, as well as commercial and general management within leading FMCG businesses. This combination gives him a boardroom perspective on both the strategic opportunity and the execution required to deliver transformation. Stijn is particularly focused on the role of data and technology in changing businesses, while recognising that sustainable transformation ultimately depends on people adapting how they work and make decisions. 

As a moderator for the AI Commerce Summit, he brings that balance to the conversation about the ambition of what is possible, grounded in what it takes to make change real.
